Thermal Imaging

Infrared Thermal Imaging is a valuable tool that helps us observe thermal deficiencies and moisture related issues that may not be visible to the naked eye.

A Thermal Imaging camera detects the amount of radiant energy emitted from a surface and provides an infrared image that is outside of our visual spectrum. From this we can observe thermal patterns which provide indications of moisture, voids in insulation, air leakage, and other conditions that may be present at concealed or inaccessible areas.

We primarily use Infrared Thermal Imaging to provide an indication of:

  • Moisture infiltration
  • Voids in insulation
  • Cold air infiltration
  • Heating system deficiencies
  • Plumbing system leakage

We can provide thermal imaging as a stand-alone assessment, or as part of a building inspection when requested. A comprehensive report is provided which includes both digital and infrared images of identified conditions.

This service has proven particularly beneficial for buildings with a history of moisture infiltration issues. By completing periodic thermal imaging scans, we can proactively identify moisture related and other deficiencies in the building envelope.
